ORDER
APPLICATION TO REGISTER THE BIRTH OF A CHILD

Mrs. Victory Grigoriev of Anse Etoile, Mahe has filed an application before the court dated Thursday 13th July, 2006 and seeking an order to have her child, born on Saturday 18th March, 2006, registered with the Civil Status office since the thirty days time limit for declaring the birth of the child had already expired on Monday 17th April, 2006. The Applicant has also filed an affidavit in support of the said application wherein she deponed that immediately after giving birth to the child she fell sick and consequently could not undertake the administrative formalities to effect the registration as prescribed by the law.
This Court is satisfied that the lateness of the declaration has been duly accounted for. Accordingly it is hereby ordered under Section 31(2) of the Civil Status Act Cap 34 that the Chief Officer of the Civil Status Office be pleased to effect the registration of the said male child of Mrs. Victorya Grigoriev as prayed herein.
